TIME

TO

visit

There is never a bad time to visit the Caribbean, although I am partial to avoiding the islands in the warm and humid summer months!
This peak season features pleasant temperatures around 75°F to 85°F (24°C to 29°C), making it ideal for sun-seekers and adventure enthusiasts alike.
If you’re looking for a more secluded experience, consider visiting the Caribbean during the shoulder seasons of late April to early June or late November to early December. These periods still boast lovely weather, but with less tourist traffic—think quieter beaches and better prices!
The summer months are generally very warm and humid, although ocean breezes help to keep the temperatures more moderate than travelers may be used to in tourist spots in the United States, like Florida.

Which Island is Right for You?

The Bahamas is perhaps one of the most iconic Caribbean destinations, made up of more than 700 islands and 2,400 cays. Known for its crystalline waters and pristine beaches, the Bahamas caters to a variety of travelers.
The Greater Antilles is a group of larger islands in the Caribbean, including Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola (shared by Haiti and the Dominican Republic), and Puerto Rico. These islands are home to rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and a wealth of natural beauty.
The Lesser Antilles is a group of smaller islands stretching from the Virgin Islands to the Grenadines. Known for their dramatic landscapes, volcanic peaks, and exclusive resorts, these islands are ideal for those looking to escape the crowds.  Think St. Lucie, Barbados, Antigua abd Barbuda and Grenada,
The ABC Islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao and known to be outside of the hurricane zone, for those looking to travel during the Atlantic hurricane season and want to avoid the possibility of a tropical storm or hurricane (although rare).
The Windward Islands, part of the Lesser Antilles, offer lush landscapes, volcanic mountains, and natural wonders for the adventurous traveler. These islands are great for hiking, exploring rainforests, and immersing oneself in the raw beauty of the Caribbean.  Think Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Dominica, among others.
For those seeking isolation and tranquility, the Caribbean also offers a number of private or lesser-known islands, often accessible only by private boat or seaplane. These remote escapes provide an unparalleled sense of privacy and adventure.
